The following is a list of "virtual" or online colleges headquartered in the United States as listed by the College Board[1] or by the Distance Education and Training Council.[2] Some entries may be campus-based but serve the vast majority of their students online. Institutions that have online programs, but are predominantly based on a bricks and mortar campus are not included in this list. Some entries may not be accredited by a regional accreditation association, but may be accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council or the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools.[3]
